The Town of Normal had presented a new multi-modal transportation facility in their Uptown Redevelopment Plan in 2000. The new building includes Amtrak, city and long-distance bus services as well as administrative offices and council chambers for the town. For this project, Mid Illinois Mechanical installed all the air handlers, boilers, pumps, and VAV boxes. The piping and plumbing systems on this new building were located next to a railroad track which requires extra safety measures. Ductwork, temperature control, and air test & water bounds were subcontracted.
